Holes for Heroes supports, among others, the Red Cross’ scientific research on Covid 19.
The first study researches how Coronavirus has spread in a healthy population (thanks to medical tests on blood donors and in collaboration with doctors). The goal is to gain insight on the current group immunity level against the virus.
The second research concerns the curative effect of the plasma: how the antibodies in the plasma of cured Corona patients can help new Corona patients.
Finally, the Red Cross is researching how to motivate recovered Corona patients to become plasma donors. If the results of these studies are positive, the objective of the Red Cross will be to mobilise even more donors to use this therapy on a larger group of patients.
